Sunburst Shutters Company History: How We Brought Custom Shutters to Hartford
Sunburst Shutters was started in the early '70s in Phoenix, AZ, by people who believed they could make a better shutter than any other in America.
The goal to be the best shutter company has changed every aspect of the window treatment business. Sunburst offered an in-home consultation where design specialists brought samples into a customer’s home to guide them in selecting the best window treatment product. With that in mind, Sunburst set out to hire sales staff that were respectful and friendly – and, at the same time, knowledgeable and helpful. Homeowners across the US fell in love with Sunburst Shutters at first sight.
In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the common window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters gave consumers a more durable and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters.
At the beginning, the company offered wood shutters only. But it became evident fast that Sunburst should create the ultimate shutter – one that provides maximum energy efficiency, and looks as charming 20 years from now as the day you purchased it. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst revealed its Polywood Shutters.
Once Sunburst offered the first class shutters on the market, they grew extensively, opening stores across America. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters grew its offerings into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.
Now, Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions offers any treatment for any size or shape of window – all custom-designed and professionally installed. With over 2,000 window treatment choices and options, Sunburst is hands down the best source of window treatment products in in the US.
